BUTT FUSION WELDING

Hot plate welding of plastic piping is referred to as butt-fusion welding. In the chassis of a machine the two pipe ends are brought together and clamped, before being faced square and then welded together use a heater plate. This is maintained under pressure for fixed period of time which is dictated by the cylinder area of the machine and the thickness of the pipe.

[h2]ELECTROFUSION WELDING[/h2]

Electrofusion welding uses a moulded socket fitting that features an electrical resistive heating coil. Once the pipe ends have been prepared, they are placed into the sockets before being clamped. An electric current is then passed through the coil for a fixed period of time, depending on the size of the pipe.

The use of fusion technology offers a number of important advantages when it comes to welding, such as:
